India has implemented several farmer-centric schemes to address agricultural challenges and uplift rural livelihoods. Among these, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) stands out, providing direct income support of Rs. 6,000 annually to small and marginal farmers. Additionally, the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) facilitates agricultural development by allocating funds to states for initiatives like infrastructure development, training, and crop diversification. Another significant initiative is the Soil Health Card Scheme, which aims to promote sustainable farming practices by providing farmers with personalized soil health cards containing information on soil nutrients and recommendations for appropriate fertilization. These schemes, along with others like the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for crop insurance and the National Agriculture Market (eNAM) for enhancing market access, collectively strive to empower farmers, enhance productivity, and ensure food security in India.
